About Us

Founded in 2012 by Kathalee James, Friends of the Pontiac Parks Association is a non-profit community-based organization that works with corporate and community partners to support the public parks in the City of Pontiac.

The Friends of the Pontiac Parks Association works to improve public spaces for residents, improve opportunities for children and families to get more physical activity, and safe spaces for play within our own community.

Our Mission

Friends of the Pontiac Parks Association will support Pontiac’s Public Parks, placemaking and trails through advocacy, public awareness, education and funding to enhance, preserve
and protect Pontiac’s public spaces.
